Goodbye Susana

We live our lives and care about things, and complain, and love, and eat, and sleep, and work. Lucky us.

My dearest sister Susana passed away last Wednesday evening. I went to Buenos Aires to take care of her and I watched her go.

She was only 61 years old. I went into her room after the funeral and saw her bottles of perfume, her pink shoes, her notes to herself and goals on her pin board, her necklaces and rings, her stylish clothes, her books, her life, the life she didn't come back to.

May you have a blessed day, a wonderful day, and may we all realize the opportunity we have to breath, think, cook, walk, chat with friends, look up the sky and just live our daily, crazy, wonderful days on this earth.

I love you, Susana. You'll always be with me.

Hope I am not bringing anybody down with this post!! Quite a few of you asked me about my sister, so here are the latest news. Thanks so much for your kind words.

Take care, lovelies.

Silvia

  2. Silvia, I think perhaps bravery runs through your veins. I learned today of a friend who's sister-in-law is slipping away at only 45 with two young children. You provide a kind reminder for us to look to what we have, not what we haven't. Thank you and blessings to you.

  5. How terribly sad..but it's lovely that you were there with her. The way you've described returning to her room is very moving. And you're right about not taking our wonderful lives for granted. We are involved with a child welfare and protection organisation and some of the things I hear of really put everything in perspective. Lots of love to you..Rachaelxx
