Decor & Clothing Styles

I want to believe that my decorating and clothing styles are intimately related.

I love clothes that have a timeless look.
Feminine without being overly girlie.
Flirty without being too sexy.

For example (I love vintage clothing and Mary Janes!):
.

I don't like matchy-matchy,
but rather I love to coordinate items
and then throw something unexpected...
such as the blue vintage purse with any of those outfits,
or yellow and gray pillows in an all-white room...

or choose one wall and make it stand out with a vibrant color...

or add a bright set of lime green chairs just about anywhere...

What's your clothing/decor style?
Are they related to each other?

Happy Friday!

Abrazos (hugs!),

Pick Me Up Colors

I was feeling somewhat sluggish this morning, like I needed just a tiny little push to get me through the day.
Then I thought...hm...a shot of caffeine? Should I just go out and breathe fresh air? Nah. I went straight to my pink laptop and to Amy Butler Design. Yeah, that did it.

Remember that Sting song "When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do, is take a look at you, then I'm not so blue"...that's exactly how I feel when I go to Amy's inspiration page. Honestly. I do that.

I love the photographs. I love her prints. My seratonin levels shoot up to the sky and my brain starts thinking clearly, energy runs through my body and I am READY for all my weekend plans. I think most of us understand the psychology of colors. Try to look at these pics and see if you feel like getting up and roaming around the countryside or starting a new project. I cannot be the only one that feels this way after looking at them:

I am ready for the weekend. Hope yours is as wonderful as you dream it to be.

Happy Friday, chicas!
oops, sorry! and a few "chicos" too.

I found heaven

Keeping with my turquoise theme for the week I found a thing of beauty. Look! It's the Martha Stewart Blue Collection for KitchenAid. Unfortunately, I already have a KitchenAid stand mixer in black that I rarely use. I bought it in my "I like everything black" stage a few years ago (which explains why my fridge, microwave, and dishwasher are black). You can purchase the set or separate pieces here.
I don't think I would use any of these pieces often, but I would love to have them in my kitchen, just because the color is fabulous! Thanks, Martha.

Still with shades of turquoise and green in my mind...

More inspiration on the divine shades I posted yesterday....
Anything catches your eye?

Now, all I need is a turquoise Fendi bag...:-)

Colors I love this week: shades of turquoise and green

It seems that turquoise is a hot color lately. I've always liked it and will continue to love it even when the craze dies down. Turquoise brings to my mind feelings of all things coastal and fun vacation spots (thinking Seychelles or Maldives, oooh, neat).
Turquoise shades paired with green just make me feel happy and alive:

Be happy, go get something turquoise or green :-)
